Quickstart
This walks you through creating your first agent and having it do something real. It takes a few minutes.
1. Create an agent
From Agents, choose Create agent. You give it three things:
- Name — how you will recognise it, for example Invoice filer.
- Instructions — what it should do, in plain language. Be specific about the outcome you want.
- Model — which AI model it uses. The default is a good starting point; you can change it later.
When the agent is created you land in an admin chat — a chat about the agent rather than with it. You can describe changes there and the agent's settings are updated for you, after you approve each change.
2. Connect an account
An agent can only act where you have connected an account. Go to Integrations and choose Add integration, pick the connector you need, name it, and complete the provider's sign-in.
On the consent screen you decide what to grant. Granting less is fine — it simply means fewer tools are available. See integrations for the details.
Connecting an account requires the Admin role in your organization.
3. Give the agent access
Open your agent's settings and turn on the integration you just connected. For each integration you can choose:
- Which tools the agent may use.
- Which tools need your approval before they run. Anything that sends, deletes or spends money is worth marking here.
4. Try it
Open a chat with the agent and ask for something concrete:
Find the three most recent invoices and summarise who owes what.
The agent picks the tools it needs itself. You do not name tools — you describe the outcome.
5. Make it run on its own
Once the agent does the right thing when asked, automate it:
- On a schedule — daily, weekly, monthly or once, at a time you choose. Add it under Schedules in the agent's settings, with the message that starts each run.
- On an event — when an email arrives or a file appears in a folder. Add it under the integration's Triggers tab.
Both are covered in triggers and schedules. Each automated run creates its own chat, so you can always read back what happened.
